From a secretary’s desk on an aluminium factory floor to Founder and CEO of AJ Bliss Aluminium.
Joy Bukar, in her own words
So, what really inspired my career path was my early experience in the aluminium and roofing industry. After finishing secondary school, I worked as a secretary in an aluminium factory, and that was my first real introduction to the world of roofing. Watching the craftsmanship and quality that went into every roof inspired me. It was from that experience, balancing school and work, seeing the daily process, that I developed a real passion for ensuring that every rooftop is a masterpiece. That experience truly shaped the direction of my career.
A defining moment that truly shaped me was a conversation with my father. He sat me down one day and told me I was born for greatness. He shared that poverty can seize your voice and your identity, and that true wealth begins in the mind. This conversation shaped how I viewed hard work and integrity. It taught me to see beyond immediate challenges and to build a legacy that would not end with me.
Beyond my professional title, I am a woman of faith, a mother, a wife, a daughter, and a sister. I absolutely love empowering women to actualize their own potential, especially in male-dominated spaces. I find joy in being part of others’ success stories and in making a difference wherever I can.
